NFL Free Agency 2020: Ranking the top quarterbacks looking for a team after Tom Brady signs with Buccaneers

Plenty of dominoes have fallen among the quarterbacks in NFL free agency over the past few days, with  the biggest one to tumble after he chose the . With Brady at Tampa Bay, will no longer be the Buccaneers starting quarterback, a position he’s held for the past five seasons.

Winston will join a crowded quarterback market in free agency, as there are many starting quarterbacks from 2019 looking for a job for 2020. There’s one problem: there just aren’t that many starting quarterback jobs available.

There are former first-round picks who are going to miss out on a starting job next season, and two may be No. 1 picks (one of which hasn’t even turned 31 yet). It just goes to demonstrate how crazy the quarterback carousel can be.

Here are the top quarterbacks who are searching for a new team and the teams that can still add a quarterback:

Top four QBs who need teams1.

Newton clearly has the most accomplished resume of the bunch, yet it’s hard to fathom he may be left out of a starting job in 2020. Despite throwing for 29,941 yards and 182 touchdowns, running for 4,806 yards and 58 touchdowns, and winning the 2015 NFL MVP award, there’s a good chance Newton won’t start for any team.

The decided his services were no longer required as they continue to seek a trade partner for Newton. With the trading for , Newton only has a handful of places where he can start. Perhaps teams are waiting for Carolina to release Newton and his $21.1 million salary on the books for this season.

For Newton’s sake, Carolina should do the right thing and release him. Give Newton a head start on finding his next team.

2. Jameis Winston

With Brady signing with Tampa Bay, Brady replaces Jameis Winston as the Buccaneers’ sea boss Maurizio Sarri has confirmed he intends to return to Italy.Sarri is in advanced talks with Juventus. And he told Vanity Fair: “For us Italians the call of home is strong. “Feel that something is missing. It has been a heavy year. I begin to fetarting quarterback. So where is Winston going to land now that he’s on the market?

Winston is just 26 years old and is coming off a career high in passing yards (5,109) and touchdown passes (33), but also threw 30 interceptions and became the first quarterback to throw for 30 touchdowns and 30 interceptions in NFL history. Turnovers have always been the problem with Winston, who has thrown 88 interceptions and fumbled the ball 50 times (losing 23) in just 72 games (that’s 111 turnovers for those counting at home).

Winston has shown his immense talent, b striker Erling Haaland – without involving his agent Mino Raiola. The Daily Mail says United tried to bypass Raiola and attempted to strike a deal instead with the forward’s father Alf Inge Haaland. The attempt failed, and Haaland instead signed for But he has also proven highly frustrating when it comes to his decision-making. Whichever team signs Winston to be its starting quarterback will play the high-risk, high-reward game. Or Winston can go the route and hope to win a starting job over the course of the season.

Dalton was benched with the last season, only to regain his starting job back for the worst team in the NFL. After nine seasons, Cincinnati is ready to move on from Dalton and the remaining $17.7 million on his contract (the final year). Doesn’t hurt the Bengals have the No. 1 overall pick and are in prime position to select LSU’s Joe Burrow as their next franchise quarterback.

Dalton has thrown for 31,594 yards and 204 touchdowns in nine seasons, but has finished with a passer rating over 90 just twice. There’s a market for the 32-year old, three-time Pro Bowl quarterback, which should heat up now that Brady is in Tampa.

It would be better for Dalton if Cincinnati just released him.

There’s little to no chance Joe Flacco will be a starting quarterback in 2020. Those days are over for the former MVP, who was waived with a failed physical designation from a neck injury that caused him to miss the final eight games of last season.

The market will be strong for the 35-year old Flacco, as a backup quarterback. He may be the best backup quarterback in the league once he finds his new home and should be able to extend his NFL career a few more seasons.

Six teams that need quarterbacks

For the first time since 1993, the Patriots will be looking for a starting quarterback. This is the premier job on the market, leading a prestigious franchise in the post-Brady era. The Patriots job will bring a lot of pressure with the championship aspirations and Bill Belichick as head coach, but this is the franchise that still competes for division titles and Super Bowls (New England has won 12 consecutive AFC East titles).

So which quarterback will Belichick choose? is a strong possibility, but the Patriots feel he may not be ready heading into Year 2. Dalton would be an ideal fit in New England, although it’s hard to count out a healthy and motivated Newton.

The Chargers are reportedly moving forward with in 2020 after missing out on Brady. That suggests they intend to take a quarterback in the draft.

While the free agent quarterbacks mar Solskjaer admits Chelsea are ahead of them as the kids they are basing their future on all have experience on loan. The two teams meet in the Carabao Cup.However, Solskjaer claims that Chelsea’s wider use of the loan system has given his players vity be an option, Winston is a very intriguing candidate for that job. At just 26 and with and to throw to, Winston could resurrect his career on a one-year deal in Los Angeles.

The Chargers need some excitement heading into their new stadium.

The Dolphins committed to as the starter for 2020, at least by the $8 million cap hit they are taking on to keep him around. Fitzpatrick can be the bridge signal caller the Dolphins can use until their next franchise quarterback is ready (Miami currently holds the No. 5 pick in the draft).

Plans change and the Dolphins have plenty of cap room, but don’t expect them to enter the market for any one of these quarterbacks. Winston may be intriguing, even though he’ll have other offers.

The Redskins aren’t married to as their starting quarterback, especially since Ron Rivera didn’t draft him. Rivera has a long history with Newton as he was the quarterback Rivera drafted when the Panthers had the No. 1 overall pick in 2011.

Perhaps Newton will be the bridge quarterback the Redskins will have if they draft a quarterback at No. 2 overall. Haskins’ D.C. future is questionable after a shaky rookie season.

Jacksonville traded Nick Foles in order to give the starting quarterback job. The Jaguars could bring in a veteran quarterback to back up Minshew, but the 2019 sixth-round pick is the starter going forward.

If Minshew struggles in 2020, we may be having a different conversation this time in 2021.

Cincinnati Bengals

The Bengals are moving on from Dalton to draft Joe Burrow with the first overall pick, who will start Week 1.

The end.

Ron Rivera says he’s looking forward to being a head coach again as he says goodbye to Panthers

Ron Rivera helped make the one of the ‘s more successful teams over the past decade, as Carolina won three consecutive NFC South division titles while appearing in 50. But on Tuesday, with four games remaining in the 2019 season. The Panthers, despite their recent run of success, had slipped to 5-7 this season and are in jeopardy of a third losing season in four years.

On Wednesday morning, Rivera to discuss his nine years with the organization while offering insight on his plans for the future. Rivera, who said he is looking forward to being a head coach again, said that he was proud of what he was able to accomplish in Carolina, especially the fact that the Panthers won three straight division titles. He added, near the end of his press conference, “My greatest missed opportunity is that he didn’t win a Super Bowl,” as the Panthers lost their lone Super Bowl appearance under Rivera, a 24-10 loss to the Broncos in Super Bowl 50.

“I’m proud that I took over a 2-14 team and won back-to-back-to-back NFC South division titles … I get tired of hearing we couldn’t win two years in a row,” Rivera said. “No, we won three years in a row; so let’s get that straight. And we were the first team in the NFC South to do that, so I’m pretty doggone proud of that.”

Rivera said that he was surprised to be let go in-season. He said that he did apprecd to sell Paul Pogba this summer.Shearer believes United shoulder Chelsea fullback Graeme Le Saux is happy seeing Frank Lampard succeed as Blues manager.Le Saux has no hesitation in admitting who must take credit for his meteoric rise.He told The Sun: “Frank came from a footballing background and family and ha sell the 26-year-old after the European Championship if they want to receive anywhere near the £150million price-tag they have slapped on him. Shearer, writing for The Sun, said: “It’s iate owner David Tepper’s honesty when being told that he was being relieved of his duties as the Panthers’ head coach.

Who’ll replace Ron Rivera? And why haven’t the Cowboys fired Jason Garrett? Brady Quinn and Ryan Wilson join Will Brinson on the Pick Six Podcast to break down those questions, size up the 2020 draft and more. Listen below and  for daily NFL goodness.

With regard to how his time with the Panthers ended, Rivera, the winningest coach in franchise history, said that wouldn’t change anything about how he handled his time with the team. He also said that he he looks forward to being a head coach again while having the opportunit Brazilian signed for the midlands club in the summer in a £22.5 million transfer from Club Brugge”I had my first child when I was 14 years old,” Wesley told Sky Sports. “It was difficult because it was during this time that I started to try and play to “make an impact on young men.” Rivera added that he has the “right kind of experience” to be a head coach in the NFL again

Rivera, who said that guiding the Panthers to the 2015 NFC championship may be his greatest moment as Carolina’s head coach, did have an opportunity to speak to his players on Wednesday before addressing the media. Despite the team’s current record, Rivera said the Panthers still have the right core of players to get back to their winning ways sooner rather than later.

“There’s a good core,” said Rivera, who pointed to Baltimore and Pittsburgh as two organizations who have rebounded after recent dips in production. “The only anomaly to this thing is New England. You look at every team, and there’s highs and lows, and you gotta be able to survive the lows.”

Rivera said he was thankful to coach several future Hall of Fame players. He specifically mentioned linebacker , who he believes will be enshrined in Canton someday. He also mentioned while expressing his gratitude for the nine years they spent together in Carolina.

Before stepping off the podium, Rivera was asked about what he wants his legacy in Carolina to be.

“When we leave, I hope that we left it a better place.”

NFL Week 12 odds, picks: Russell Wilson continues post-bye week dominance, Falcons stay hot against Bucs

Week 11 in the NFL certainly started off with a bang as the and decided to make Thursday Night Football look more like Smackdown as the two clubs got into a melee in the closing seconds. While that was a shocking turn of events in its own right, from the gambling perspective, the 21-7 Browns win was just as surprising.

Heading into Week 12 we’ll be looking for a little less of players trying hit each other with helmets and more upsets that increase our win total on the year and fatten the wallets. On this slate there are two teams coming off byes that are in great positions to come out of the break with a win. Meanwhile, the are sneakily becoming one of the hottest teams in the and appear well on their way to a third straight win.

Before we dive deeper into these picks, however, let’s see where we stand heading into Week 12.

Picks record

 101-60-1 74-86-2

Missing out on the Falcons road win against the was the pick that I’m kicking myself the most from. Paid really close attention to their Week 10 win against New Orleans and was impressed at not only how the defense was able to suffocate , but how and the offense were able to put up points. solid performance in Green Bay a few weeks ago coupled with the Falcons’ loss of and were the on-paper factors that made me choose Carolina, but should have went with the gut on that one.

The only miss that stings a bit more than that one, personally, is Phillip Rivers not covering against the . That was a very winnable game for Los Angeles, but they couldn’t stack up enough positive plays.

Alight, let’s get to this week’s picks.

at Falcons

I have absolutely no clue what has gotten into the Atlanta Falcons, but they are looking closer to the team that went to the Super Bowl a couple years ago than the 1-7 team they were entering the Week 9 bye. Since that weraine set-up.Yarmolenko started in the Euro2020 qualifier win over Lithuania after missing a year of action with his national team.Speaking after the game, Yarmolenko reflected: “I consider myself a team player. I didn’t score, but the team won, so aek off, Dan Quinn’s team has impressive back-to-back road wins against the and Panthers where they’ve allowed a total of 12 points. Meanwhile, the Falcons offense has been able to put up points as well with Matt Ryan completing around 62% of his passes in this winning streak.

As for the Bucs, they seem to be limited with under center and appear to be hitting a low point with their former No. 1 overall pick after he threw four picks against the Saints last week. Seems like their troubles are going to continue as they go on the road to face Atlanta.

: Falcons 30-20 over Buccaneers

Who should you back against the spread, on the money line and the total in every Week 12 NFL game? And which  contender goes down?  to see their Week 12 cheat sheet, all from the model that is up over $7,000 on its top-rated .

: Rams +3

The hype train is simply running too hot to turn away from. Not only does Jackson have this offense cruising, but the Ravens defense has been playing lights out, allowing just seven points to the in Week 11. The Rams offense doesn’t instill enough fear in me to think that they’ll be able to keep up with Jackson, even if they are getting back in the fold and seemingly turning a corner. Over their last two games, the offense has only been able to muster 29 total points, while the Ravens are averaging 45 points a game over that same two game span.

The revenge game narrative is also a fun reason to double-down on Baltimore on Monday Night Football.

: Ravens 40-24 over Rams

: Bears -6

The Mitch Trubisky experience seems to be coming to a close in Chicago. The Bears quarterback was put on the shelf in the final moments of their loss to the Rams in Week 11 and, while head coach Matt Nagy noted a hip injury, it had the feel of a benching for the former No. 2 overall pick. How the Bears handle Trubisky going forward is anyone’s guess, but I think this situation gets worse before it gets better. They’re reeling off that loss, while the Giants have enjoyed their bye week. New York hasn’t had a season to remember, but they have enough weapons to put up points against Chicago.

As long as doesn’t turn the ball over — something that has been a big issue for him this season — I don’t see Trubisky lighting up what is a subpar Giants defense.

: Giants 24-10 over Bears

at Browns

: Browns -10.5

I admit that I may be sipping too much of the Fitzmagic Kool-Aid, but I love the spot they’re in this week, especially getting over 10 points against a struggling Browns team. They’re coming into this week after that melee revolving around and Steelers quarterback and I just feel like this is a team that is in the midst of a lost season. Cleveland was able to put up points against a strong Steelers defense, but a large part of their offense was thanks to Rudolph throwing four interceptions.

is a much more capable quarterback and should be able to find plenty of success against a Browns defense that mediocre in terms of DVOA.

: Take the Dolphins +10.5, Browns win straight up, 27-20

: Eagles -1.5

While the Eagles desperately need a win this week to keep pace with the in the NFC East, they are in a tough spot facing the Seahawks, who are coming off a Week 11 bye. Under , Seattle is 5-2 after a week off (vis ) and Wilson has completed 67.9% of his passes with 14 touchdowns and just one interception in those situations. I expect more of the same this week.

Agent’s Take: Five trades that make sense at the NFL trading deadline

The NFL’s trading deadline is rapidly approaching. This year’s trading period ends Oct. 31 at 4 p.m. ET. Afterward, trades can’t be executed again until the 2018 league year begins on March 14 at 4 p.m. ET.

Bold moves or blockbuster deals are virtually nonexistent at the trading deadline. The biggest move since the 2011 lockout ended has been the giving the a 2012 first-round pick and a 2013 second-round pick for quarterback in 2011. It’s the only time a first- or second-round pick has been given up in a post-lockout deal at the trading deadline. This means the aren’t going into full rebuilding mode by reuniting with his former head coach Tom Coughlin, the ‘ executive vice president of football operations, in Jacksonville.

Fourteen deals have been made in the days leading up to the expiration of the trading period over the past six years. The mid-September trade of linebacker , a 2015 first-round pick, from the t Zaha refuses to be kicked out of games. The Crystal Palace star is the second most fouled player in the Premier League, with only Aston Villa captain Jack Grealish having been subjected to more.“It’s definitely frustrating,” he told TalkSPORT beforo the for a 2018 fifth-round pick is indicative of the types of deals that are typically made as the trading deadline nears.

The have been the most active team. Out of the 11 trades made over the past five years at or near the trading deadline, six involved the Patriots. Surprisingly, , who turned down a lucrative extension from the Patriots during training camp last year, was dealt to the for a 2017 third-round pick at the 2016 deadline. The speculation that New England would move cornerback , who is likely to leave in free agency after this season, before the deadline has died down because of injuries to cornerbacks and .

There’s optimism that this year’s deadline will be different because of the flurry of trades surrounding the early September roster cutdown. The lack of a dominant team or two emerging might be an impetus for increased deadline activity. Over three-fourths of the has between three and five wins after seven weeks of the season.

Below are five trades keeping in the spirit of the deals traditionally made as the trading deadline approaches. A team acquiring a player will only be responsible for 9/17th of his 2017 base salary and any other applicable salary components in his contract. A trade wasn’t proposed unless the acquiring team had the requisite salary cap room to complete the transaction.

It was very tempting to suggest a scenario where defensive tackle , who has been shopped, is dealt because he got off on the wrong foot with the new regime of head coach and general manager Brandon Beane. Other major pieces from former general manager Doug Whaley’s tenure have already been moved.

Teams are reluctant to absorb the almost $5.2 million left of Dareus’ 2017 base salary and an additional four contract years worth $50.01 million, which include a $7.35 million 2018 salary guarantee, while giving up substantial draft picks for a player with character concerns who gives inconsistent effort. It would be hard to fault the Bills for insisting on compensation similar to what the received for defensive lineman , whose off-field issues are well-documented. Seattle essentially gave up a 2018 second-round pick and wide receiver , who immediately became a starter with Jets, for Richardson at roster cutdowns.

owner Jerry Jones has a high tolerance for character concerns and off-field transgressions. Although the Jaguars defense is tremendous against the pass and on pace to set an NFL single-season record for sacks, it ranks 30th against the run (138.6 yards per game) and last with 5.2 yards per rushing attempt. Dareus’ best football was in 2013 and ’14 when current Jaguars head coach Doug Marrone was in charge of the Bills.

Here’s a list of trades that would make sense at the trading deadline:

Rodgers-Cromartie served a one-game suspension because of a dispute with head coach Ben McAdoo over his playing time. The Giants’ lone win of the season came in Week 6 against the during his suspension. Upon return in Week 7, Rodgers-Cromartie saw a reduced role. He was only on the field for 16 of New York’s 76 defensive snaps against the . Four Giants cornerbacks played more than Rodgers-Cromartie.

Cornerback has been a glaring weakness for the Raiders, who were a preseason favorite to win the AFC. fell out of favor during the preseason. 2017 first-round pick has been plagued by shin problems. breakout 2015 season seems like an aberration for him. T.J. Carrie, who is in a contract year, has been Oakland’s most consistent cornerback.

Opposing quarterbacks are completing 69 percent of their passes against the Raiders (29th in the NFL) to post a league high 109 passer rating. The Raiders are allowing 8.2 yards per pass play, which is third worst in the NFL. The only team that hasn’t intercepted any passes is Oakland.

Rodgers-Cromartie is under contract in 2018 for $6.5 million. The 31 year old makes $2 million less than 30 year old Sean Smith next season, who is expected to be released in the offseason.

Player swap

Cincinnati selected in the second round of this year’s draft to be the future at running back. Mixon supplanting Hill, whose rookie contract expires after the season, as the primary ball carrier ensures he will not return to the Bengals in 2018. Surprisingly, tight end has become a timeshare in Detroit because Ebron has largely been missing in action. Low cost free agent pick up has been getting more playing time. , a 2017 fourth round pick, would see his role increase dramatically if Ebron departs.

Although is healthy this year, Detroit’s 84 rushing yards per game are 26th in the NFL. The Lions rank one spot lower with 3.5 yards per carry. Hill coming remotely close to his performance during the second half of his rookie season in 2014 where he gained 775 yards while averaging 5.1 yards per carry would be a tremendous boost to a stagnant rushing attack.

The injury bug has bitten Bengals tight en have a bright future ahead. The defender has moved on from the club where he has spent most of his career. However, Jenkinson is not bitter about the exit.Instead, he has positive things to say about the club and their manager Unai Emery. The 27-year-od again. Eifert, who is also headed towards free agency, recently underwent season ending back surgery. Ebron would have half a season to impress Cincinnati enough to commit to his $8.25 million fifth year option for 2018. The Lions are likely to release Ebron next offseason before this amount becomes fully guaranteed in March with the way things are going for him.

2018 fourth-round pick

Reid already switched from free safety, which he played in 2016, to strong safety this season. After a minor knee injury kept Reid out of action for three games, he didn’t return to strong safety because of play during his absence. Reid, who is playing under a $5.676 million fifth-year option, doesn’t seem thrilled about his latest move to a hybrid linebacker/safety role where he is rotating with linebacker .

Losing All-Pro safety to a season ending achilles injury in the first game against the Patriots is starting to catch up to the Chiefs. During Kansas City’s current two game losing streak, the defense has given up 944 yards to the and Raiders. Steelers running back gained 179 yards on the ground in Week 6 while quarterback Raiders threw for 417 yards the following game. Starting cornerback , who was placed on injured reserve at the beginning of the season with a core muscle injury, could return as early as Week 9’s contest against the Cowboys.

Fitting the $3,004,941 remaining balance of Reid’s $5.676 million base salary could be problematic because the move would leave the Chiefs with right around $600,000 of salary cap room. San Francisco converting some portion Reid’s’ salary into signing bonus prior to the trade might be necessary so Kansas City would only be responsible for paying Reid $1.5 million to $2 million for the rest of the season.

The Chiefs’ ammunition to build the roster through the draft would be further depleted but Kansas City is a contender having already beaten the defending champion Patriots and given the their only loss of the season. The Bills got Kansas City’s 2018 first round pick in a trade which led to the selection of quarterback in the first round of this year’s draft. The Chiefs don’t have a 2018 fifth round pick because of a preseason trade with the Browns for offensive lineman .

The Bills have a surplus of offensive tackles. Moving one makes sense especially with Henderson just finishing the 10 game suspension for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy he started serving last season. A trade centered around Bills offensive tackle and Seahawks tight end was an alternative. The Bills dealing a Pro Bowl caliber offensive tackle in his prime for a tight end on an expiring contract and draft picks seemed less plausible. It may have been a different story if Bills tight end wasn’t expected to return later in the season from the knee injury he suffered in early October.

The Eagles and Bills have already demonstrated they can work together this year with the preseason trade involving cornerback and wide receiver . Losing left tackle for the season on Monday night to a torn ACL and MCL in his right knee is a big blow. wasn’t up to the task after Peters got hurt or filling in for right tackle earlier this season or last year. Henderson started 26 games for the Bills during the 2014 and 2015 seasons prior to his battle with Crohn’s disease and two substance abuse suspensions. The 2019 seventh-round pick could be as high as a 2019 fifth-round pick depending on Henderson’s playtime with the Eagles after being acquired.

Eagles’ White House visit might actually happen after team reportedly gets invite

Four months after winning the Super Bowl, the might finally be heading to the White House.

According to , the Eagles have formally been invited to celebrate their win at a White House ceremony that would be held on June 5, exactly four months and one day after Philadelphia’s 41-33 win over New England. However, before the visit can happen, there’s still a few things that need to be figured out. The biggest thing is that the Eagles have to accept the inlose during their meeting at the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan on Sunday.Karim Benzema scored the only goal of the game in the 64th minute during a fairly uneventful encounter in Seville.”The team fought until the end and we were in the game until thvitation, which apparently hasn’t happened yet. ABC noted that details related to the time of the ceremony and the list of people who are expected to attend haven’t been released yet.

The attendance list is definitely the most pertinent detail right now, because there are multiple people in the Eagles organization who don’t really like Donald Trump, starting at the top with owner Jeffrey Lurie.

During the Owners meeting last October, Lurie took a shot a Trump in that . During the meeting a player said that owners couldn’t be trusted because they side with Trump, and Lurie responded by saying that Trump’s presidency has been “f—ing” disastrous.

“Many of us have no interest in supporting President Trump,” Lurie said. “Yes, there are some. There are some players who do, too. But this is not where you brandish a group of people because they own assets in a sport we love, supporting what many of us perceive as, you know, one [expletive] disastrous presidency.”

Trump’s comments from October, where who decided to kneel for the anthem, didn’t sit well with a lot of the players in the Eagles locker room. Remember, that was also the speech where Trump referred to protesters as “sons of b——.” Eagles safety , who has been one of the more prominent voices in the NFL when it comes to protesting, has already if the team decides to go.

Eagles defensive end has also said there’s no way he’ll be going as long as Trump is in office.

“[When] my son grows up, and I believe the legacy of our president is ,” Long said in February, via the Washington Post. “I don’t want him to say, ‘Hey Dad, why’d you go [to the White House] when you knew the right thing was to not go?'”

Two Eagles players who left the team in free agency this year — and — also likely .

Of course, just because a few players don’t want to go doesn’t mean the Eagles won’t accept the invite. The team definitely sounded interested in making the trip .

“We have been in contact with White House representatives and are currently discussing the logistics of an upcoming visit to Washington,” a spokesman for the Eagles said at the time. “We are honored to receivigl. The highly-rated Germany international is being made available by BVB, says BILD, and for a knockdown fee.Arsenal and PSG are both interested, with his club willing to sell for a cut-price €30m.BVB need to sell after spending almost €130m on e this invitation and view this notat the top of the Premier League table to three points on Saturday.Liverpool can restore their six-point advantage if they beat Tottenham on Sunday but, after dropping points last weekend, the Reds go into that game knowing they have the defending ch only as an opportunity to be recognized for our on-field accomplishments, but also as an opportunity to engage in productive dialogue with the leaders of our country.”

One thing that could throw a wrench in the visit is the Eagles’ offseason schedule. The team currently has OTAs scheduled on June 5, which is the day the White House wants the visit to happen. The team would likely have to shorten the session if they wanted to make the trip to DC, which is nearly two hours away by train.

Dwan Edwards hopes to return to Panthers in 2013

Following his release by the Buffalo Bills at the end of the 2012 preseason it took veteran defensive lineman mere days before he latched on with the , his third team in eight seasons.

The former Oregon State lineman responded with arguably the best year of his career, as he teamed with defensive tackle Ron Edwards to form the Edwards Wall on the interior of the Panthers’ line. After signing a one-year deal with the Panthers for a relative bargain of $1.5 million, Edwards hopes to return to Carolina in 2013.

“It was fun. It was kind of a situan stone law for incomplete seasons. The Daily Star says there is no rule in place stating the Premier League can be deemed complete if 75 per cent of a season is completed, despite social media reports. The organisation voted to postpone fixtures untiltion for me coming in and not knowing the team I wasn’t really sure how it was going to be and what my expectations were,” Edwards told the . “I hadn’t heard great things about the defensive line, but throughout the season I could see us getting better and improving. I really felt we won some games for us.”

Edwards, 6-3, 300 pounds, finished the season with six sacks — the most by a Panthers’ defensive tackle since 2002 when Kris Jenkins recorded seven. Edwards’ sack total ranked second in the NFC among defensive tackles behind Ndamukong Suh, who finished with nine. Bills: Mario Williams had ‘slight tear’ in left wrist

(US Presswire)

After weeks of reports and speculation, DE set the record straight regarding his left wrist injury on Wednesday.Sort of.Williams said that he indeed had a “slight tear,” which prompted him to undergo wrist surgery during the team’s Week 8 bye.”As far as I know, I really don’t know all the lingo,” Williams said. “I just wanted to get it done, whatever needed to be done. I don’t know as far as exact terminology of it being torn. … I’ve heard that myself, but I just know something was wrong with it.”[The doctor] said there was, you know, a slight tear or whatever, I don’t know the severity of it, but obviously it’s something that caused me not being able to use it. So I don’t know, you’d have to ask for the exact verbiage from the training staff.”There’s been all sorts of reports and reactions regarding Williams’ injury. On Sunday, ESPN reported Williams had a torn ligamenll when he was younger. The 21-year-old has been a revelation at Old Trafford since signing from Swansea City this summer, having scored three goals from five games. But things could’ve turned out differently for the Wales international, who almost chot. Bills coach Chan Gailey refuted that report on Monday, saying that he had heard nothing about a ligament issue in talks with team trainers. The Bills drew a $20,000 fine earlier this season for not disclosing Williams’ injury on the team’s olled Leonardo Bonucci about a move to England.Just a year after returning to Juventus from AC Milan, Bonucci could be on the move again, says Corriere dello Sport. This morning, it’s being reported Guardiola has spoken to the veteran defender about jofficial injury report.

Williams had one of his better games of the season Sunday against Houston, his former team, leading the Bills in tackles with seven. He also had a sack.”It feels better every day,” Williams said. “I think that’s the biggest thing. That’s what we were looking for.”Now that he’s healthy, the Bills are hoping to deploy him in a variety of different ways along the defensive line. He has lined up almost exclusively at left defensive end through the first half of the season, but Williams said that was due to his inability to use both arms as a pass rusher.Moving Williams around could be a vital part of Buffalo’s defensive game plan for the New England Patriots on Sunday. In Week 4, the Patriots ran for a whopping 247 yards — and had two 100-yard rushers — running largely away from Williams’ side.Asked if Williams might move around more this week, Gailey was coy in his response.”Maybe,” Gailey said. “We might see that.”For more updates on the Bills, follow correspondent Mark Ludwiczak on Twitter and .

49ers Report Card: Straight A’s following win against Cardinals

The San Francicso 49ers’ 24-3 win against Arizona on Monday Night Football showcased what is possibly the most balanced team in the NFL.

QB completed 18 of 19 passes for 232 yards and three TDs. Hard to do much better than that. In fact, no one in history has ever attempted more passes in a game and had just one incompletion. His 157.1 quarterback rating represented the best single-game performance of his career. Once the game was out of hand, the offense downshifted and ran out the clock.

The 49ers have held opposing teams without a TD in four of the last five games. Let that sink in. They’ve only allowed touchdowns in two of the previous 20 quarters of foo.James, after a two season-long loan with Bayern Munich, is available from Real and a confirmed target for Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis. However, Okdiario says nothing is agreed with the Azzurri and instead is eager to hear from United. For ttball. Arizona PR Patrick Peterson had just 15 yards on four punt returns, and all of K ’ kickoffs went for touchbacks. Akers also knocked through a 43-yard FG in his only attempt. Three of P ’s punts were downed inside the 20.

This was the type of performance that coach Jim Harbaugh is looking for each week. Dominant defense, coupled with efficient offense and no problems on special teams. executive Omar Khan has interviewed with them, and exec John Idzik flew in from Seattle on Tuesday and is meeting with team officials on Wednesday. The Jets’ assistant general manager, Scott Cohen, is also under consideration, sources said.

While there were reports of former GM Jerry Angelo being a finalist, sources said he was not contacted about a second interview. Also, though there have been reports that scouting director Marc Ross pulled out of consideration, league sources said he was not a finalist, anyway.

The Jets are replacing long-time GM Mike Tannenbaum and are focused on ways to rectify the cap crunch that they are facing and determining hoManchester United fullback Luke Shaw welcomes competition from Brandon Williams. It’s been claimed Williams is now rated ahead of Shaw in the left-back pecking order at United.Shaw said, “As for Brandon, I relish the challenge from him 100 per cent. In the past people have come in at left back who have maybe been switched from other positions.“Since I’ve been here that hasn’t really been that much competition. The team also must improve its scouting and talent evaluation.

Idzik and Khan are experts in salary-cap and contract matters and, sources said, if the Jets went outside the organization for this hire there would likely be sweeping changes coming to the front office.

The Jets made it clear to candidates that coach Rex Ryan will stay for 2013 but that coaching changes are in play beyond that season if necessary. The team has also been interviewing coaches trying to fill the many vacancies on that staff and trying to have personnel matters resolved before the Senior Bowl kicks off next week.
